Viele Neuerungen bringt die Version 2.0 der Firmware für das Shocker Reloaded Board. Unten aufgeführt findet sich die Originalpressemitteilung inklusiver aller Neuerungen und hier ist das neue US Handbuch als PDF Datei.
Here is the brand new 2.00 firmware for the Reloaded board. You'll find hereafter some answers on the new firmware.
Please read it carefully since most of your interrogations should be addressed here !
What does 2.00 brings to you ?
Point 1 : First of all, we added a ROF concept, that is automatically compensate for DWELL adjustement to guaranty an accurate „ball per second“ adjustement.
Point 2 : For better battery management, we added a 20 minutes timer that switches off the board automatically when nothing is performed during this period.
Point 3 : We re-arranged the order of parameters in order to have the most used parameters in the first places when you setup the board parameters.
Parameters are now in this order : 1/ GAMETYPE, 2/ ROF, 3/SENSITIVITY then 4/ DWELL, 5/ TIMERS ALARM and 6/DOC.
Point 4 : We removed the AMB parameter. This AMB is now performed automatically by the board depending on the context.
Point 5 : Exclusive Instantaneous real time BPS computing providing an INCREDIBLE SOFTNESS in ramping allowance !!!!!!!!!
Point 6 : We added new GAMETYPES, and introduced the BREAKOUT mode.
1/ NPPL SEMI : Semi auto mode with unlimited ROF.
2/ ADJUSTABLE SEMI : Semi auto with adjustable ROF.
3/ MILLENNIUM : semi-auto with caped ROF of 15, ramping allowed after 3 shots, ramping starting over 7.5 bps.
4/ PSP : semi-auto with caped ROF of 15, ramping allowed after 3 shots, ramping starting over adjustable SENSITIVITY.
5/ PSP burst : semi-auto with caped ROF of 15, EXTRA ramping allowed after 3 shots, ramping starting over adjustable SENSITIVITY and stoping with adjustable sensivity. EXTRA ramping is a modified ramping that fires 3 shots after each real trigger action.
6) FCP ENHANCED : semi-auto with adjustable ROF, ramping allowed right after the first ball, ramping starting over adjustable SENSITIVITY and stoping with adjustable sensivity.
7/ NXL : caped ROF of 15, jumps to full auto after 3 semi-auto shots. 1 seconds of inactivity brings you back to the 3 semi-auto shots sequence.
8/ BREAKOUT : after 3 shots of semi-auto you get the F/A with adjustable ROF for only one trigger action. As soon as you release the trigger you jump to FCP ENHANCED mode (this can be setup differently on request, but FCP ENHANCED is so flexible that it can be setup to mimics any other gametypes!!).
9/ LASER BEAM : Full mode with adjustable ROF…
Point 7 : ROF can be adjusted between 4bps and 23 Bps.
Point 8 : If the TIMERS parameter is set, it no longer interferes with the trigger action when vibrating. The VIBRATOR is interleaved with the trigger action so that both can happen at the same time !!
Point 9 : All musics are fully customisable. They are saved in non volatile memory and can be changed by the user before programming the board with the download cable !!!
Point 10 : We changed the range of the different parameters as follow:
1/ GAMETYPE is between 1 and 9, sorted as explained in point 6, and sets your game type.
2/ ROF , or Rate Of Fire: can be set between 4 and 23. It is a Ball Per Second value. 4 meaning 4 bps, and 23 meaning 23bps.
3/ SENSITIVITY can be adjusted between 1 to 4. 1 being the most sensitive mode and 4 being the less. 1 sets the threshold to 2.5 Trigger Actions Per Seconds (Taps), 2 sets the sensitivity to 5 taps, 3 sets to 7.5 taps and 4 sets to 10 taps. We used the taps terminology to clearly differenciate a Trigger action (when you push on the trigger and release it) and the result, which is how many balls are fired in 1 second (the Bps). This because when ramping is activated, you have less taps than bps. The Threhold AND the rules of the tournaments define there threshold referring to the taps. Therfor only the actual trigger action are taken into account when ramping…
4/ DWELL : can be set between 6 and 30, and is expressed in steps of 0.5ms for fine tuning the balls velocity.
5/ TIMERS ALARM has a range of 0 to 20. It express the time that elapses between two Vibrator alarms, by steps of 30 seconds. 0 meaning OFF and 30 meaning 15 minutes.
6/ DOC : FSDO Control can be set between 0 and 20 in steps of 0.5ms. This parameter acts after 20 seconds of inactivity to ensure that the first ball will get out of the barrel.
Point 11 : For safety reasons, we changed the behaviour of the buttons in PROGRAMMING mode.
The trigger is still used to „READ“ the current parameter setting. So pressing it and immediatly releasing it, will count on the BUZZER AND on the Blue LED (this is a new feature) the value of the parameter. If you pressed the trigger for more than 2 seconds, nothing happens. YOU dont save the parameters this way anymore. TO SAVE THE PARAMETERS you must press the ON/OFF button for more than 2 seconds now.
We changed this because, once you have saved you automatically jump to the GAME mode. THEREFORE doing this with the TRIGGER was dangerous !!!!
Some extra explanations :
The 2.00 is more than an evolution. IT's more of a REVOLUTION. We have recoded all the software with the player in mind. We have improved the softness of the ramping and the way the ramping is granted to the player. We have therfore followed the rules of MILLENNIUM, NXL and PSP to the letter !!!!!!!
If the rules allows a ramping starting at 7.5 taps, the board alows it at 7.5 ! Not 7, not 8 but 7.5 !!!
That's now the same for the ball per second caping. Whatever your DWELL adjustement and the rate of the Balls coming from the LOADER (as long at it not conflict with the caping) your ROF is set to the official 15 bps and can neither excide it nor being under it, if you perform enouth taps !!!
Same comment for the balls leaving the gun within the 100ms after a trigger release. We do not fire on the Release event !!!!! This making sure that no ball can leave the gun within this period !!!
Those three point making the board probably the most accurate and RULE compliant board of the market…
