Todd Martinez von Dynasty schreibt mal wieder im Procorner von ForceOfNature. Den Artikel zum nachlesen gibt es natürlich auch bei uns.

Well I hope that everyone has been having an enjoyable off-season. I know that during this time there are a lot of people who like to take this time to get a break from paintball and relax, while others like Mike Hinman on my squad have missed playing less weekends than Brett Favre. Regardless of what you have been up to this winter, it is a new year and what better time to go out and shoot people again.

At the end of the year it always seems like the season before came and went, and at the beginning of each fresh new year we get so excited to do it all over again. I had so much fun last year playing paintball. I went to many cool places with all of my best friends, and accomplished a lot to be proud of. I know it is only a matter of time before everybody
realizes what a fun, cool, and dynamic sport we play.

I went to the field the other day and this kid came up to me and we bull schnickened for a little bit about paintball before he pulled out his camera and started showing me pictures of him playing. He was like “pretty tight right!” I was like “hell yea man that is great!” He told me how chicks at school dig it. He said “paintball is the new skateboarding.” We all hope so my friend. It just amazes me how many kids you see at the field now.

Our sport really is growing tremendously and it is cool to see such passion for the game and competitiveness from these young kids. We just picked up a killer little backstreet boy who just got done potty training but will run through the X on the break, bunker your center guy, and shoot out the two guys on your left tape. Oops, sorry Legacy. This kid really could be something special and it will be fun to teach him the wise ways of jedi masters.

I really enjoy doing the clinics that our team puts on, as well as the other personal clinics that we do. Every time we have a clinic, everyone always rants and raves about what a good time they had. That is all we can really hope to ask for because that is why we all do this in the first place, right? Like I said before I am very thankful to those pros that came before me and gave me the mojo. Though I was just lucky to have met the people I did. Not many had the opportunity I did. Today we are really trying to make ourselves more accessible to help kids who want to learn as well as try to make paintball a positive influence in their lives.

It is also cool when I get players who really want to learn and really try hard. If you know me at all you know that I am as fierce a competitor as any other professional in any sport. I have played in some of the biggest paintball games in paintball history and I loved every second of it. Those are the moments I live for, because that is when I am at my best. But I will have a big smile on my face if we spend a day learning more about paintball and having fun. It is even better when I get to work with people who are also competitive and dedicated. If you are a fighter, a grinder, and a competitor, come to our clinics and get down with me. I give a lot of credit to the kids who come out to SC every weekend and scrap to get games. These guys are constantly getting better and the desire to work harder will only raise the level of play everywhere.

Paintball is going in a lot of positive directions and the type of things that are happening today I would not have even dreamed about when I first got into the sport. Thanks to Greg Hastings and his crew of esteemed individuals, a group of friends and I are in a video game for Xbox. Are you serious! I can only imagine what is going to happen next. Watching paintball on TV has definitely been awesome. Too bad the Oakland vs. Strange game wasn't televised. That was the real brawl. So anyway, TV, video games, magazines, chicks, I'm all in. Kids, stay in school, be nice to your parents, play paintball because it's obviously the cool thing to do.
