Destructive Customs RF Drop In Harness

Das 23$ teure upgrade von Destructive Customs wurde nun von 68Caliber.com unter die Lupe genommen.

Destructive Customs has carved out a niche for themselves in custom milling and repair work on markers like the AKA Viking and Excalibur as well as the Mac Dev Cyborg.  The operation is a small one, and both owners have full time jobs in addition to their paintball lives and business.
With the introduction of the Draxxus Pulse loader at the 2006 World Cup, Destructive Customs saw an opportunity to carve our yet another niche in the paintball market.  One of the key features on the Pulse is the RF mode, which utilizes a small radio frequency module to working in parallel to the marker's solenoid to actuate the loader every time the marker's solenoid fires, which has the effect similar to WDP's intellifeed, which did the same thing using a cable.

One of the difficulties that a player will encounter if he decides to install a RF module into his marker is the need to solder the wire leads from the module to the marker's solenoid.   Assuming the owner has the necessary skills and equipment to do it, it's fairly quick and easy to solder the leads to the solenoid.  There's also the option of sending your marker and the RF Module to an authorized installation center, but some don't like the idea of their baby being subjected to the gentle ministrations of shipping companies.
So what if you're not interested in sending off your marker to some faraway land or what if you re squeamish about sticking a red hot soldering iron into your marker's guts?  Destructive Customs comes to the rescue with their RF Drop In Harness, which is a simple wiring harness that connects your marker's board to the module and allows the module to work just as if it were soldered directly to the solenoid.  The harness itself consists of nothing more than some wires connected with small Molex connectors to connect into the board and the RF Module.  Installation into the Review Mule Ego took around 10 minutes, with more time spent making sure the various wires were routed to keep them out of the way of the moving parts in the grip frame.

On the field, both the RF Module and the DC harness worked flawlessly, and during the course of the day around 2 cases of paint were fed through the marker without a hitch, and myself and the review crew members using the marker liked the extra bit of control that the RF mode gives you over paint being fed into your marker.
The $23 MSRP sounds overly high for a few pieces of wire and a couple of connectors, but the tooling necessary to crimp the wires into the connectors is extremely expensive, and the price does include shipping.  The RF Drop In Harness is available for the Pre-Angel 1 Angels, the Ego, DM/PM series markers, and several other makes and models currently available on the market.  For more information, check out www.destructivecustoms.com
