Dye Precision Inc.,

today announced the signing of professional paintball player Chris LaSoya to a multi-year endorsement agreement.

Terms of the agreement call for LaSoya, the number two ranked player in the world and multi tournament winning champion to use Dye Matrix markers, Dye Barrels and Dye casual wear as well as consult in future marker product development.

"Dye has always been at the front of the pack with setting standards for paintball products. I am not only happy but very proud as well to be a part of the Dye group once again. Dye helped me in the beginning of my career and I only hope that I can give back as much as they have given me. As I've gone through many years in this sport, there has always been one thing that has remained, my relationship with Dye. To be the best you need the best and I look forward to many successful years shooting the best marker on the market", said LaSoya

"Chris was part of the Dye family early in his rise to the top of the paintball world. It is great to have him back with us, representing our products and promoting paintball at every level. He is not only one of the best players out there, but truly a recognizable and approachable superstar in our sport. Chris's style of play and commitment to excellence are aspects that we look for in a professional player. We couldn't be happier to sign a long-term agreement that will see Chris shooting our markers through the rest of his playing career", said Dave Youngblood, CEO of Dye Precision Incorporated.
LaSoya will continue to play with the World Championship Team, Baltimore Trauma as well as travel worldwide as an ambassador of the sport.

Smart Parts X-Ball Event Preview

Filed under: Allgemein — Florian @ 07:16

Every Friday night starting October 6 at 5PM, ESPN2 will air coverage of the 2006 National Professional Paintball League's (NPPL) U.S. Paintball Championships held at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

From exciting duels in the snake to long-range sniping, ESPN2 captures the fast-paced action. Featuring a $50,000 cash prize, the largest prize in NPPL history, the round robin tournament features eight of the world's best professional paintball teams:

– Atlanta Predators, coached by Paul Adlers
– Jacksonville Raiders
– Los Angeles XSV
– New York Aces
– Pennsylvania All-Americans
– Russian Legion
– San Diego Dynasty, three-time defending champs;
– Seattle Naughty Dogs.

Using a game clock similar to more traditional sports, both teams battle to see which can accumulate the most points before time runs out. Five players from each team start at opposing ends of the field, a rectangular swatch of turf that is filled with inflatable obstacles. Their goal is to grab a flag from the center of the field, and run it to the opposing teams starting box, eliminating anyone who is in their way.

Each time a flag is hung, a team scores a point and then reset to their starting positions with a full compliment of players. Team coaches are able to shout and direct their players from the sidelines. Player fouls are dealt with by time spent in the penalty box, during which the team may start the next point with fewer players in their starting box.
