Seit 16 Uhr gibt es bei P8ntballer.com eine Vorstellung der Eclipse EGO. Wir haben für Euch den Artikel.
The Ego has landed! Here we are, at last, after years of anticipation and bated breath, introducing Planet's first completely in-house designed and manufactured gun. After spending the last 11 years producing some of the most sought-after custom parts and custom markers, including Automags, Cockers, Angels, Bushmasters, Shockers and Impulses, the time had finally come for the Eclipse team to put everything they've learned into creating their own marker from scratch.
Planet's goal for this product was to develop a marker that bore all the hallmarks of a classic Eclipse. It had to be light, yet robust, stylish and durable. It had to be reliable, yet still deliver outstanding fine-tuned performance. It had to be tournament ready. The kind of gun that you pull out of the box, screw in a tank and go play with in the NPPL Sunday Club.
And here's the result. The Ego.
Ego uses the proven system of an open bolt electropneumatic to provide the driving mechanism of its operation. Although there is not one single component in this gun that is shared with any other non-Eclipse gun, the layout and function of most of the parts will be similar to those found in many of this genre of marker. For example, the “Rammer” (ram/hammer) is one-piece for durability and simplicity and connects to the bolt via the bolt pin. The Rammer is controlled by a sub miniature solenoid valve mounted inside the gun, which in turn is controlled by the E2-esque board in the frame.
The Frame, trigger and user interface will be instantly recognizable as sharing their genes with that other recent Eclipse product, the E2. With some of the same shared technology comes the highly effective TT (Trigger Transition) debounce filtering system. Combined with low reciprocating mass, minimal shot-kick and the TT filter, any chrono on any circuit can be approached with confidence, not fear. Insane firepower, zero bounce. The best of both worlds.
Thankfully for the balling community, a vast deal of time and effort on this project was given to making the Ego as simple and user/tech-friendly as possible. Take maintenance, for example: A complete strip of the gun's major components can be done in less than a minute! And plenty of common sense has been applied with simple things like the eyes. They can be replaced without having to remove the grip frame from the gun, but you can also remove the frame and internals without having to remove the eyes. Easy to design in principle, but much more difficult to put into practice, as any Paintball gun manufacturer will tell you.
And the list of bonus material continues… The entire hammer, QEV, exhaust valve/guide, manifold and solenoid can slide out in one go. This gun really is a tech's wet dream, and of course has all the performance and style and quality you have all come to expect from Planet and their Eclipse markers.
Manufactured and assembled in UK, by the same craftsmen that brought you the E1, E2, Nexus and Factory Series Cockers, the Ego promises to be as flawless a piece of Paintball engineering as you will likely find anywhere on the planet. Machined, finished and anodized in the same facilities that have been producing the famously high grade and aesthetically stunning Nexus Cocker, the Ego looks to be of a quality and performance that belies its MSRP of $1250.00 (£799.00 inc VAT).
Ego, Pure Eclipse.
The Ego will be available to buy as of Nov 11th, when it will be having its official launch at NPPL San Diego. More information and images on the Ego, including available colors, will be posted at www.planeteclipse.com on Monday.
