Mehr dazu in der offiziellen Pressemitteilung:After 15 years of being a stand-alone event, the IAO is now fully aligned with the NPPL. In another unprecedented first, the NPPL is not only sanctioning but also awarding teams 80% of the series points which will carry over to the Super 7 World Series. The IAO will be the only feeder event in 2005 to award Official ranking points towards the overall Series. Division III teams attending the IAO will not change their divisional standing by playing in this event.NPPL/IAO Sanctioning Points for Division II (D II) and Division III (D III) teams only will be awarded as follows:1st place will receive 40 points2nd place will receive 36 points3rd place will receive 34 points4th place will receive 32 points19 points will be awarded for all Quarter finalists not in the final four plus 0.8 points for every 25 game points earned in the Quarter final round; and0.8 points for every 40 points earned for all teams not making the semi finals. These points can be substituted for one of the five NPPL Super 7 World Series events. This is a great opportunity for Division II and III teams to pick up additional or earns higher series points. D II and D III teams may use the top five finishes out of six events towards the overall NPPL Super 7 Worlds Series. The Series is made up of the following cities stops Huntington Beach, Tampa, Denver, Pittsburg IAO, San Diego and Miami.Chuck Hendsch, president of the NPPL, had this to say “With the high demand for team positions in Division II and Division III it is necessary for the NPPL to add a sixth event to the overall series. It is also important to offer a tournament venue in the Northeast United States for D II and D III teams to earn NPPL Super 7 World Series points. The IAO being a stand-alone event with an enormous reputation for attracting top-notch rookie and novice teams is the perfect event to add to the NPPL circuit. In addition to the series points the NPPL ID program will be in full swing to establish a solid player tracking and tournament ranking system that is fair and legitimate for teams and players. The IAO will be a perfect event to offer shared points and the NPPL ID card program. We look forward to working with Team Effort Events to give the players a great tournament experience. “The NPPL / IAO Membership sign up program will begin May 15th. There will also be an NPPL Referee Training course held Tuesday July 26th and Wednesday July 27th. Referees that are reffing the event are encouraged to take the course.
