In order to ensure a larger group of refs to pull from for it's series, the EXP Series will be hosting NPPL ref training in conjunction with all of its events in 2005. On the Friday before each event weekend, held at the venue, there will be a ref training course given by Dan Perez and other official trainers of the NPPL. The course will be capped at 20 people per event to ensure quality instruction time for the participants.
In the up coming season, the NPPL had made improvements in the ref training course and will now offer a ref manual as well as a ref ID and other materials to its certified refs. Anyone completing the training offered at the EXP events will receive these items as well as be eligible to ref at any NPPL event or feeder. For all fields hosting affiliates for the EXP in 2005, it's a perfect opportunity to get their refs trained.
Though the NPPL values the course around $100 per participant, the EXP is setting up this offer free to anyone wanting to participate. As Part of the training, you will assist the core reffing crew with the series over the weekend so players who plan to compete would not be eligible. This will offer both training and experience to new referees as well as give the East Coast access to the best in ref training for it's local stores and fields.
Anyone interested in attending the first training session to be held March 4th at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh should contact David Morgan at [email protected] . For all other new and updates on the EXP series, be sure to check out expseries.com.
